My present 2008 1.6 petrol Allure has given me no problems -so far (17k). However my newly purchased Peugeot RCZ which has the same chain driven 1.6 although slightly more powerful engine as the 2008 is a real nightmare. At 67k had the timing chain ,tensioner etc changed.Now at 90k chain has stretched and the best part of £1000 will be spent
25-06-13 10:43. Recommendation for mine is 150,000 normal conditions or 75,000 under arduous driviing conditions. I have it changed at 60,000 miles. I also have tensioners and the water pump if it it driven by the belt, changed at the same time. I have seen too many fail within recommended change times to risk them.
